The Cabin is located within the Asheville Metropolitan Area directly off the North Carolina Scenic Byway (NC 209) halfway between Waynesville and Hot Springs. Although we have a Hot Springs address, we are actually located in Trust which just happens to be next to Luck – imagine when they selected these names way back when!

Nearby towns include:

Asheville: 30.2 Miles (49 minutes) to the Southeast is the center of Asheville (Pack Square) reached via a scenic drive that traverses the mountains down to farmland.

Scenic Byway: 1.0 Mile (3 minutes) to access The Appalachian Medley Scenic Byway, an official NC drive that follows NC Highway 209 from Lake Junaluska to Hot Springs, that twists and turns through the Pisgah National Forest and rural countryside speckled with historic barns.

Great Smoky National Park: 26 Miles (47 minutes) to the Southwest is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park – the most visited National Park in the country.

Max Patch: 10.7 Miles (28 minutes) to the Northwest is Max Patch; a mountain top bald with hiking trails considered the crown jewel of the Appalachian Trail for its views and wide-open mountain pastures – think Sound of Music

Hot Springs: 15 Miles (26 minutes) to the North on the Scenic Byway is the town of Hot Springs – a destination town with the Appalachian Trail intersecting the town center and known for its historic Hot Springs.

Waynesville: 25 Miles (42 minutes) to the South on the Scenic Byway is the charming town of Waynesville.

As you enter Spring Creek Preserve there is a small road section of 150 feet with an 8% slope grade. We have had all types of vehicles in Spring Creek Preserve to include the big UPS box truck, Toyota Camrys, to Tesla’s. There is no need for a truck, 4WD, or high clearance vehicles.  If traveling during winter months we would recommend an AWD vehicle.

We have shared all the above out of an abundance of caution as we understand that many flatlanders (like us) who have not experienced mountain driving may approach gravel roads or slight road pitches with trepidation – we got you…you can do this!

We are also happy to share that we have a Level 2 charging station for EV & Hybrid vehicles is in the driveway.

This question all depends on your service provider.  If you have Verizon, you should have reception at The Cabin.  We have heard that some guests have also received cell signal with other providers.

However, all of this is not to fret as we have wicked fast Wi-Fi which can be used to make Wi-Fi calls from your Smartphone, and we also have a telephone (VOIP) at The Cabin.
